Explicitly stated or not by modern translators and committees, this translation is the boundary marker and foundation whose scholarly example and literal rendering into the common English language of it's day has inspired and informed every God fearing translator since.
It is with eternal gratitude I salute all the scholars and God fearing individuals who made these and other translations possible. I stand with a mixture of reverent awe and trepidation before my own bookshelf which has no less than 12 readily accessible English translations at my finger tips. I most definitely pause in joyful gratitude before the shelves of book stores both secular and Christian containing numerous translations and paraphrases in my native language. We are without excuse and will be held accountable for what we did or did not do with the knowledge of God we had readily available. Conversely it is with frustrated anger that I sometimes look upon these same shelves with the knowledge there are still some 2000+ people groups throughout the world who have never heard nor read the Gospel in their native language. We spoiled Americans could have stopped at the NKJV, NASB, and NIV and put the remainder of our scholarly efforts and energy into seeing the Word translated unto the ends of the earth rather than continuing to present newer more modern, more saavy, more palatable versions out for a nation of individuals who as a whole are characterized by not wanting to hear nor conform their lives. God will use these as He sees fit, and will reach every last lost sheep He has set out to bring into the fold, they are His tools in His nail scarred hands, and my anger most definitely does not show forth God's righteousness, but the root of His desire for all people to be drawn to repentance and faith in Him is there nonetheless. I stand in awe or His outpouring of His Spirit on all flesh in these last days.
All specifically known quotations from authors and sources are noted by name and delineated with quotation marks or indentation and attributed to the author and/or book title from which they were taken. Inadvertent lack of attribution is not willful negligence or false claim of originality nor an attempt on my behalf to claim future right to a phrase or principle. I wholly believe that all truth is God's truth, and that numerous persons throughout history have discovered, or rediscovered as the case may be, timeless principles and teachings that are needful for reiteration and exposition - as such a reference may indicate something known and attributed from antiquity or something newly read and rephrased by a modern author who does not give attribution. Principles with repetitive teachers throughout the ages, lost origins, inadequate attribution, or unoriginal claim to authorship will not be presented as original to me by implication or claim. Nor will I put forth distracting energy to qualify and credit every last thought, jot, and tittle. I will strive with integrity to present and credit known information accordingly.
